oh dear...

My mum just used the phrase "I should cokey..." What on earth does that mean?? Strange woman...

I am using my time very wisely today - stuck in a car with my family travelling up to Cheshire to see the rest of our family for a few days. Usually would take about 4hours...today however we've already been 2hours and have done around 10% of the journey. So what am I doing to pass the time? Update my blog of course!!

With the new year approaching I am going to update the design again next week and make sure I regularly update :)

My other resolutions for 2011 are:
1. To actually graduate with a decent grade therefore meaning I will start (and finish) my dissertation and the other work I need to do...
2. To keep a diary
3. Find a job!!!
4. Stop biting my nails...or make sure they grow!! They always get to a certain length and I feel great then they all break...next year I will stop this vicious circle!!

It's Christmas Time

...There's no need to be afraid!

Don't know why but I always seem to have that line (not the song just the line) in my head! Random!

Here's another random thing for you; a list of everything I love about Christmas...got any to add to my list??

-Twinkling fairy lights on other houses
-The amount of roasts we have over a period of two weeks..yum!
-Putting up the tree and all the decorations
-The excitement as the pile of presents under our tree gets bigger
-Even more excitement from around the 16th when mum breaks up from school and brings all her boxes of chocs back for us to devour
-Spending time with all the family

Unfortunately my phone decided not to send this on Christmas Eve when I wrote it so it seems a tad late from your point of view...owell the twelve days of Christmas and all that!!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas :)

Preview: Due Date

On Wednesday, my boyfriend and I went to see Due Date at the cinema. 2for1 on Orange Wednesday makes it an ideal 'date' for the both of us; especially now since the prices have gone up to £9.60 for an adult...pft not looking forward to leaving the student prices behind next year!

Go to my 'Film Reviews' page and check out what I thought of the film.

Leave any feedback under this post!!

Ciao

Techno-Prats

My mother has finally moved up in the world of technology. No longer does she communicate via her pink Samsung push up mobile (Do you even know what I'm describing? That is how old this phone is!) She is now the proud owner of a purple, yes purple, Blackberry Bold.

Cue round of applause.

To be honest, I thought I was going to have to spend hours teaching her how to use each button but no no she is no longer a techno-prat and has amazed me with her BBM-ing skills. The sad thing is we are now the BBfamily...as all four of us own one....deary me! Remind me not to get mine out when with them!! On the plus side, four way BBM convos are amazing!! I've always wondered why the UK have never cottoned on to the multi-way phone calls, just like in Mean Girls or Lizzie McGuire (yes I did just reference a Disney Channel programme). How cool would that be - talking to all your friends at once as if you were sat round a table at lunch!

While we are on the subject of amazing things, my mother did not only upgrade her phone yesterday, she also bought a Blu-Ray player. I mean, where is my mum and what have you done to her?!

Being one of those annoying people who can't tell the difference between HD TV and non-HD TV (we have had many a discussion over this in my student house) I have to say you CAN tell the difference when it comes to Blu-Ray; especially Beauty and the Beast, which looks out of this world!!

I am not however, conforming to what the Blu-Ray world want and re-buying every single DVD I own....the DVD is not becoming the new VHS and I am not a millionaire!

Time for my first rant!

Saturday night. It is not a case of having "no plans" I have "plans with my TV"....X FACTOR of course. Except that I find out this week's programme is 2 and a 1/2 hours long......TWO AND A HALF HOURS LONG....so at roughly 14 contestants and 3 minutes per song that is about 40 minutes of singing - what the hell is the rest of that time I asked myself. About two minutes in I realised....we get to see each of their whole flipping life stories aswell!!! Gr!!!

Due to their being powercuts around my area I was unable to rant whilst watching so I took a few notes to share with you now:

Number One: Mary and Wagner....REALLY?!!?! Are you kidding me? That is GROSS!
Number Two: Where did all this Simon and Cheryl banter come from? Classic moment when Simon congratulated her on not being orange this week....haha!
Number Three: Cher is just plain weird. Get off the stage, no one cares.
Number Four: TreyC has a wicked, powerful voice but who is she? Due to Cher and Katie hogging the dramaqueen limelight, no one else (with actual GOOD voices) gets a look in!!!
Number Five: Aiden is AMAZING. End of.

Right, this is it!

Hello and welcome to my new blog!!!

Anyone who knows me will know exactly why my blog is now called "The One Who Loves to Blog"... any ideas? It is of course been inspired from one rather amazing American sitcom that we all know and LOVE....F.R.I.E.N.D.S!!

Now as F.R.I.E.N.D.S biggest fan I thought that by naming my blog as if it were an episode I would be honouring one of the best programmes ever. I stil can't believe Channel 4 have ditched it! SOB! Though having got both boxsets...I sure as hell won't be missing out!

Anyway my blog isn't going to all be about F.R.I.E.N.D.S promise!! It shall be me ranting and raving about whatever pops into my mind from now on! I also have a new tumblr account - litt1edarling.tumblr.com so please check it out and follow me on there too!

Much love,

HannahElizabeth ♥

Bored.com

Wow it's been a while!!

Don't you find that when you have a holiday coming up, or a weekend or even just a single day off you make all these plans about everything you're going to accomplish but then never actually get round to doing any of it?

Well that's whats happened to me this Easter!! Three weeks off and nothing. No essays written or sketchbooks completed or even any blogs posted! Sounds terrible!! Probably because it is! Infact I have actually planned everything (I am an amazing planner/list writer) and done some photography but only because I enjoy taking photos - it's so easy to do that. I always do the easy stuff first and leave the hard stuff til the night before. It's become a kind of ritual. Except for the fact that I have about a million pieces of work to do and only four weeks left of my second year to do it in.

Hence why I'm sat on my computer updating my blog.................

Though I have been to Barcelona and back, luckily the day before the Iceland volcano went off! Otherwise I would still be in Spain! Though on second thoughts that may have been a good thing!

And as for my procrastinating, well, I'm going to do what I do best...PROCRASTINATE! So I'm off out for lunch with my two bestfriends and then to the cinema (which at least gives me a film to review later!).

Hasta la vista!

Drama, Drama!

I said this week was going to be eventful - I just didn't realise this meant today!!! Was happily on the phone to my entire family (being passed around to each of them) when my housemates start running around screaming and panicking outside my door. I go out of my room to find the kitchen FLOODED due to a broken boiler gushing out cold water!! DRAMA DRAMA! Was absolutely freezing! Not to mention that our bloomin' student house company don't have an emergency/weekend number so we were filling buckets up and tipping them outside, trying to desperately find a way to stop the water/get a plumber! After my housemate left a panicky voicemail on the Maintence guy's answerphone he turned up half hour later to pull apart our sink/cupboards to find the shut off valve. Thankfully!! Could you imagine if none of us were in and we'd come home to a swimming pool in our kitchen! We found this highly amusing - only because it's not our problem of course!! That will teach these student housing companies to fit their kitchens better in future!

Busy Week Ahead!

Wow I can't believe it's nearly the Easter holidays already! Only a week to go! (Thankfully) As always near the end of term, everyone is definitely ready to go home. Especially in our house. Tensions have risen through the roof, and I swear everyone is on their bloomin' time of the month...bearing in mind I not only live with two girls but three boys aswell....

Yesterday was lovely though (most likely because I was out of the house all day)! Despite the ridiculously early morning start for a Saturday me and the girls had a great time in Winchester on this tour of the city for one of our lessons where we have to write about the city for an American travel guide. It's ironic I said we had a great time because we weren't in the best of situations - the tour was boring, it was absolutely POURING down with rain and we'd been up since 9am...on a Saturday. But we got on with it, took down loads of notes, were soaked through, found a Starbucks and cheered up over Hot Chocolate and muffins (for them not me...two weeks til Lent is over!)

After heading back to Soton we dropped two of our friends off and picked up another two friends to head off to the cinema to see The Bounty Hunter (See the Film Review page to read my review!!). We also spent two and a half hours in Frankie and Bennys gorging on the most delicious meal I've had in a while!!! Was lovely!!

Back to reality today though, trying to get some of this work done....after writing on my blog of course! Footballs on therefore me working goes slightly out of the window (so loud) but I'm always complaining about noise as our walls are ridiculously thin so I'm procrastinating as usual. This week is thankfully going to go so fast as we have so much on! Two of my mates birthdays means I'm out Tues/Wed/Thurs, best friend from home is coming down on Wed and my sister and her mates are down on Thurs....going to be a full house this week!!!!

Style Society

Last night I found myself at an event called Style Society hosted by a third year fashion student with proceeds going to Oxfam. My friend Steph, the model I mentioned in my previous post, was walking in the fashion show, one of the many parts the night was made up of.

Walking into Orange Rooms was like walking into another world. A world full of fashion students who were unbelievably skinny it made you think you were fat. Utterly Ridiculous. And they all had "style" apparently - but what is "style" nowadays!?! Curtain harem pants? Lace leotard and trakkies? Hmmm.....

The music on the other hand was great! Starting off with an acoustic set from Aaron Soul covering songs like Sex on Fire and Bump 'n' Grind. The atmosphere was really chilled out, with orange disco balls providing the lighting. Next was the fashion show. Hmm no emphasis on "show" however! It lasted about 10 seconds!! Bit disappointing but Steph looked amazing as always, wearing a floral dress paired with grey heart tights and peach heels. The models were scattered about the club standing on blocks and one by one had to walk up to the stage.

The auction was next which we found a bit funny seeing as we were all students!! But never the less it was for charity and people sure dug deep in their pockets!! One girl spent 100 on a two-hour tattoo session! Wow I wish I had money like that to spend! Following another 10 second fashion show was the acoustic set from Le Martells which was clearly the highlight of the evening!!

The sun has got its hat on!

Helloooooo!!
It's been a while but guess what - my laptop is finally sorted again!!!
And its sunny!!! Well not right now...but yay I was actually hot on the walk to university this morning!! I hate being too cold so its nice to see some sun once in a while! However what I don't understand is how some people think that a little bit of sun equals shorts!!! Its not THAT hot come on! We are in Southampton remember!!! All that cold sea air - it's MARCH for crying out loud!!

I was sat in the park on Wednesday waiting for my friend Steph to come along dressed in my usual pink coat, scarf and boots desperately clutching my mocha to keep me warm and a boy walked past wearing shorts, a t-shirt AND FLIPFLOPS.....flipflops!!! It's March!! How many more times do people need to be reminded!!!! Dear me!

Anyway rant over!

Todays has been an eventful photography day!! Forgot to take my orange book into uni so as to borrow a camera so poor James had to come and bring it to me bless him! Finally got out a Canon 400D and picked Steph aka my model up on the way home! We transformed my (disgustingly dirty/messy) student lounge into a studio with James being light boy haha and Steph modelling as a drunk, passed out Snow White! Was hilarious! Photos have turned out good though - need to download them so I can put some on here!!

Now I'm watching Americas Next Top Model - I love this programme - it's on its 13 series and I've watched every one of them bar last years when I was stuck in halls with no TV and a crappy internet link!

P.S. Sorry for all the rearranging of this blog! It's still a work in progress and I'm trying to make it as good as possible of course!!

Apologies

As typical as anything goes, the minute I create a blog my computer decides it has had enough of me and crashes. Not just once but hundreds of times, every five minutes. Fab. So unfortunately my blog has been neglected and will continue to be until I have my computer back from my techno-expert dad. For this apology post I've managed to steal a couple of minutes on my friends computer - which has become a regular occurence this week!!! It just shows how much I personally need the internet. And while we're all facebook obsessed it is not facebook that I'm missing. I miss how easy it is to use google to answer a question or find out opening times of my gym or see whats on TV tonight (yes that is how cool my life is atm). We take the internet for granted and I know I'm not the only one who can hands down say I can't live without it! I feel so disconnected from the world! Which unfortunately brings me to the point where I'm going to have to sign off from here as this keyboard I'm using is UNBELIEVABLY annoying (not the usual ... its made by hyunju...says it all really). Hopefully be back soon!!!!

Welcome!!

My 2010 New Years Resolution was "Start a Blog" and although it may be the end of February my blog is finally up and running!

If I am honest with you though, the reason it has taken me two months to start this is purely because I couldn't think of a suitable name! How silly is that! I wanted something original and fun but nothing seemed suitable. Then this morning, one of my close friends reminded me not to pick anything that was going to be embarrassing in ten years time! So I chose my name....never going to be embarrassed by that...I hope!!!

I will try and blog as often as I can. I'm expecting it to be quite random but I hope you find something you like! Enjoy =]
